KINGSTOWNE, Virginia – November 4, 2010 - Cubic Applications, Inc. (CAI), a member of the Mission Support Services business unit of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB), has been awarded a five-year contract with a potential value close to $35 million to provide simulation and network services to support battle simulations and battle command systems for the Joint Multinational Simulation Center (JMSC) located at Grafenwöhr, Germany, and five other European sites.

The JMSC is an element of the Joint Multinational Training Command (JMTC), the training command of U.S. Army Europe. The JMTC is the largest training command outside the continental United States. JMTC range and maneuver complexes, simulation centers, classrooms and facilities provide realistic and relevant training to U.S. Army, Joint Service, NATO, and allied units and leaders.

Larry Smith, Vice President and General Manager of CAI’s Virginia-based Defense Modernization Division, said this program will become the company’s largest European contract. Unlike other CAI training contracts, this one focuses entirely on information technology design, implementation, and support. CAI is providing software engineers, network engineers, systems administrators, database managers/developers and information assurance to support mission training and command and control systems employment and integration. Work on the contract begins December 1, 2010.

The JMSC supports U.S. and allied training from its principal location at Grafenwöhr, and from sites at Baumholder, Kaiserslautern, Schweinfurt/Bamburg, and Hohenfels in Germany and at Vicenza, Italy. Additionally, support is provided throughout the European theater to U.S., NATO and allied coalition units. Units supported range in size from Battalion through Joint Task Force. Significantly, JMSC also supports the Africa Command, with headquarters at Stuttgart, Germany.

Cubic Corporation is the parent company of three major business segments: Defense Systems, Mission Support Services and Transportation Systems. Cubic Defense Systems is a leading provider of realistic combat training systems and defense electronics.
