OLYMPIA, Washington – March 14, 2012 - The Mission Support Services (MSS) segment of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) has won a task order contract to provide functional operations support to the National Training Center (NTC) Bicycle Lake Army Airfield at Fort Irwin, California. The award is through the U.S. Army Forces Command OPTARSS II multiple award indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity contract vehicle. It is the first award won under the new MSS Business Development Directorate organization, which was established starting this fiscal year.
The NTC is located in the Mojave Desert and provides a tough and realistic joint and combined arms training environment for the US Military and other civilian organizations. The airfield operations at Bicycle Lake Army Airfield, Fort Irwin and associated locations provide essential support for combined arms maneuver training, medical evacuation, joint service exercises, and contingency missions for civilian assistance. Cubic Applications, Inc.’s Omega Training and Education Division, based in Columbus, Georgia, will perform the work for the airfield.
Under one base year and two 1-year option period contracts, Cubic will provide all required support services necessary to manage, operate and maintain airfield operations and air traffic control activities. The work will be inclusive of selected Air Traffic Services, Airfield Services and Remote Site Communications Services.
